It's as fundamental as Shakespeare or even Homer, both of whom existed in clear traditions. The problem with high school teachers is that they don't seem to be able to break through the "Shakespeare is boring" threshold. It would help to slow the process down, introduce his predecessors, such as Chaucer (they both wrote versions of Troilus & Cressida, which happens to be set during the Trojan War). In fact, maybe if I ever did become an English teacher, this is exactly how I would go about it.Tony Laplumehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07854455859399339169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7775505056072298041.post-38356329550634026322014-11-30T02:52:01.765-08:002014-11-30T02:52:01.765-08:00I don't think you'll be disappointed.I don't think you'll be disappointed.Tony Laplumehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07854455859399339169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7775505056072298041.post-21498049167222127832014-11-29T20:17:45.682-08:002014-11-29T20:17:45.682-08:00No creative work exists in a vacuum. No creative work exists in a vacuum. The Armchair Squidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10739833215220853127noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7775505056072298041.post-41808473036807781522014-11-29T15:09:13.081-08:002014-11-29T15:09:13.081-08:00I'm a Quentin Tarantino fan.
